ILK presents 33 concerts at 5e during Copenhagen Jazz Festival!

02 jul. 2012

ILK is once again  presenting 10 days of uncompromising music in the vivid old slaughterhouse 5e during Copenhagen Jazz Festival.

The heavy line-up contains headliners such as Han Bennink, Thomas Morgan, Andrew Drury, Gerald Cleaver, Marc Ducret,  Liudas Mockunas, Fred Lonberg Holm, Mary Halvorsen, Koichi Makigami, Ned Ferm, Beppe Scardino, Mat Maneri, Hiroshi Minami playing together with the ILK members.

Raw walls and free tones are the main ingredients in ILK’s sessions. Hidden behind trucks and meatfactorys in the grey meatdistrict of Copenhagen, it will all take place in the citys best get-away.

By the way ...

Last year the american jazz-giant DownBeat gave following review of the stage:

”Concerts at the club 5e contrasted with the capitalism taking place in the nearby red light district” .

Another heavy weight magazine The New York City Jazz Record (formerly All About Jazz NY) wrote following:

”Every day the label  showcased their y

oung, closely-knit contingent of musicians at 5e in the old meat district - from Anderskov and Osgood to saxophonist Lotte Anker, multi-reedist Sture Ericson and pianists Simon Toldam, Søren Kjaergaard and Anders Filipsen. Perhaps this series had no finer opportunity taken than when ILK guitarist Mark Solborg and saxist Evan Parker moved their concert to 5e due to storm flooding at their original venue - one of the historic storm’s few positive repercussions.”
